After my chat with Ingrid, I went back up to my room and took a long nap. I woke up around eight. It was just getting dark outside and I changed into jeans and a black sweatshirt. I waited around until after nine and then headed to Venus Studio. My plan was to break in and get a copy of their list of investor’s, which I would then send anonymously to Harmon.

When I arrived I parked my car on the road and walked down the farm’s dirt driveway. Lights were on in the farmhouse. I crept past and headed towards the big barn out back. I was relieved to see that there weren’t any cars parked in the lot. There were also no lights on in the barn, at least not that I could see. I didn’t bother trying the doors. I knew they’d be locked. Instead, I walked around to the back of the barn where I found a row of windows about a half story up. But I was way to short to reach them to even see if any were open. I looked around and saw some large round bales of hay along the fence behind the barn.

I went over and grabbed one, thinking it would be easy to lift and pulled a muscle in my shoulder when I found out otherwise. That sucker was heavy. I ended up having to roll it underneath one of the windows and set it up on one end. I climbed on top of it and still wasn’t quite able to reach the window. But my hands could reach the sill and I pushed against the window. To my surprise it opened, swinging inward. I was able to brace my feet against the side of the barn and hoist myself up onto the windowsill. It was dark inside and I couldn’t see a thing. I tentatively lowered one leg down and could feel nothing but empty air. I had no idea how far up I was.

I tried to turn my body so I could lower myself down into the room, thus lessening the impact of my landing, but a sharp pain in my shoulder caused me to let go of the sill. It felt like I was in free fall forever when I finally landed hard on my side on top of what felt like a box spring. I must have fallen a good five feet and my hard landing knocked the wind out of me. But other than that, I was okay. I lay still for several long minutes until my eyes adjusted to the darkness then pulled my keys from my pocket. There was a penlight on my keychain. It didn’t give off much light but I could see that the room I was in was crowded with boxes and rack after rack of cheap skimpy costumes. There was also a full bedroom set, living room set, dining room set, lots of office chairs, a couple of desks, bookshelves, cordless phones, and lots of other household crap.
